Customers see which branch has an item, can buy online and collect in store (click-and-collect), or order in store what is not currently on the shelf. For consumer-facing shops, right-of-withdrawal notices, price-indication rules and correct unit-price display are part of the standard scope.

Klarna in all its variants (Pay Now, Pay Later, instalments) is effectively mandatory in DACH retail — invoice payment is still the highest-converting method here. Add PayPal, cards via Shopify Payments, SEPA direct debit, and Apple Pay and Google Pay for mobile. For B2B we add prepayment and invoice purchase with credit checks through Billie or Mondu so you are not carrying the default risk yourself.

The infrastructure side, yes — Shopify absorbs traffic peaks without any work from you, and that is one of the strongest arguments for the platform. What Shopify does not automatically fix is an overloaded theme: twenty installed apps each injecting their own JavaScript into every page will slow down even the best infrastructure. We measure Core Web Vitals with real user data first, then clean up apps and theme code, and build release-critical pages so they stay stable under load.

A clean standard setup with a customised theme is live in 4–6 weeks. A custom theme project takes 8–14 weeks. Shopify Plus B2B with ERP integration runs 3–5 months.
